Members of our community are invited to step forward and serve on the Executive Board.
For the upcoming December 2026 cycle, four (4) Executive Board positions will open (with a focus on ensuring balanced representation, including a minimum of two female members). An additional three (3) positions will open in December 2027. New members may serve up to two consecutive two-year terms.
Whether you bring professional experience in education, healthcare, business, community service, or simply a sincere heart devoted to the growth of our Center, your contribution matters. We encourage all qualified community members who are guided by Islamic values to consider this meaningful opportunity to serve.
Must be a current resident of Lackawanna County, PA.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must hold the legal right to work in the United States.

Election Concludes: Sunday, December 27, 2026, at 8:00 PM EST.

My name is Safwan Joya, and I am honored to serve as a Board Member of the Islamic Center, representing the voice of our youth. I have been attending the Scranton Mosque since it first opened, from childhood to the present day.
I am currently a pharmacy major at Wilkes University. I bring energy, dedication, and a sincere commitment to serving our community with integrity and purpose. I strongly believe that our youth are the foundation of our future, and I look forward to working collaboratively to strengthen engagement, unity, and growth within our Islamic Center, In shaa’ Allah.
